Scythe Help Required
I know this is the build section mostly, but I don't know where else to post something purely dervish based, so here goes.
I do NOT need flames relating to the skins, appearance or armour. I am here for advice about modding a Scythe for use. If you haven't got anything useful to say, don't even bother. And yes, this is for PvE.
So this is what I'm currently using. Not particularly rare, but I like it and I like the mods on it.
My friend showed me his Asuran Scthe and I love the skin, so I crafted one on my Monk. I had a +5e lying around, and since I have a +15% when... scythe, I thought I might as well turn this into a higher energy scythe.
Now since I have a +20% enchantments, 20/20, what will be useful for use in PvE. By this, I mean missions and quests, not necessarily farming. Bear in mind I am a survivor as of the moment, and whilst I'm not too fussy about dying, I don't want to go out of my way to do so early
Please post your advice, based on experience or opinion. I am currently running a fairly standard Mystic Regen build. It totals me +9 health regen and +24 armour, with Faithful Intervention as backup survival, so I have plenty of defensive skills.
Edit: Since this is the builds section, I might as well share the build I'm using cos hey, I'm always open to advice.
Scythe Mastery: 11 + 1 + 1
Earth Prayers: 8 + 1
Mysticism: 11 + 1
[skill]Reaper's Sweep[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Wild Blow[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Vital Boon[/skill][skill]Conviction[/skill][skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
I use SS Rebirth Signet, but it doesn't seem to have a PvXcode icon O_o
Thanks guys ^^

Get an IAS. Namely [skill]Heart of Fury[/skill]. Without it your damage output will suffer dramatically.
Also, if you have Eye of the North, Great Dwarf Armor > Conviction. It gives +24 armor AND +60 health.
Best Scythe for PvE is Zealous, 15^enchant (or 15^50 doesn't matter), and +30hp. I don't really see a point to 20% enchanting on a melee weapon, just swap to a Spear with +20% enchanting and HSR spells 10% to cast enchants. That way you can have an extra 30 health for more protection as a survivor.
[skill]Watchful Intervention[/skill] > [skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill]

Sorry yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm currently playing through NF, thus I need Wild Blow in there for removing Whirling Defense off the Kournan Bowmen which crop up every 10 freakin seconds. I usually run with HoF. I'll have to go looking for GDA...*takes a note* thanks for the tip.

I'm fairly lazy with weapon-switching, thus I prefer to run with a scythe that I can just stick too. I have one 20% enchanting already, so I don't really see the need for a second. I definitely am liking +30hp as a potential mod, since as you said, survivor. +5/+30 weapon would be useful.

I don't agree here though I like the fixed duration of Faithful, so I'm gonna stick with it. Perhaps if I lose my survivor and I'm not quite as O_O about safety, I'll give it a whirl. Although as I said, I'm not going to be too sad if I accidentally lose my survivor. For now, I'll stick with Faithful since I know it works for my style of play. Also lower energy, so I can recast it if it ends xD
Thanks for the advice. More is welcome!

for the scythe go zealous +5e of defense. the build is alright, could use a IAS though.
also. Imo, a vow of strength build is alot better for a survivor, lets you stack on tons of buffs.

I got myself a Droknar's Reaper (Zealous, Enchanting) after one of my characters finished Eye of the North, and never regretted it once. It's not hard to ball up foes so that you hit multiple foes so that Zealous works better.
If you're wanting to continue on not dying I would personally choose a scythe with a Fortitude mod. Perhaps Zealous + Fortitude. If you don't use a Superior Rune, and perhaps use survivor insignias, as well as knowing when you're beat, you should be able to stay alive pretty well, in my opinion, especially with survival enchantments on top. You can protect yourself against spike damage, but heavy degen, such as that from Mandragor and the like, can be a killer. +Health can help against that.
I would second the advice on using Heart of Fury. An IAS on a Dervish can be really nice.

QFT. Mod wise this is the best scythe for general pve imo. Still the skin is kinda meh
When playing EDA i usually use +7 armour vs elemental damage mod.. seeing as melee won't touch me

I like the skin on Droknar's Reaper.
I like the idea behind the use of the Warding mod. There aren't many uses for those. Even so, would +5 Defense not be better since, though you might be blinding melee next to you, there could be a ranger a a distance trained on you?

Yea i guess.. although as i made another thread requesting a D/R build, and got a reply for EDA + volley, i now have an ebon longbow on switch. So i can just whip that out for rangers

Ok..
#1. Faithful Intervention triggers at 50%, Watchful Intervention triggers at 25%.
50% health you will hit quite frequently, and most of the times your Monk can just handle you. However with FI you will lose your fail-safe when you reach 50%, whereas with Watchful you lose it at 25% health, which is when you really need it because you're most likely getting spiked bad at that point.
#2. It's a 1-second cast, meaning you have a much higher chance of getting it off mid-battle in order to save yourself or a teammate. If you lost your FI at 50% health then you'll need to spend 2 seconds recasting it.
#3. It heals for more.
#4. It works on other people.
#5. It recharges 5 seconds faster.
All that for 5 more energy...
And it lasts 60 seconds, 72 with a +20% enchanting Scythe, so that's not really a lot of recasting...

I forget to recast WI. I know WI is better, but I rarely drop below 50% and if i do my ass is getting the crap out of that mob.
edit: that only applies when i do take either. which is rarely.

I never use either one of the interventions. I usually find that when they trigger it is too little too late. It's better to use that slot for either another attack skill so you kill faster and take less damage that way or take another enchantment to buff your defense.

I use faithful only when going shadowformer. Since it kicks off for it and not watchful. But other than that I try to avoid using the interventions. But watchful is much better for healing.
